March – Spring Readiness

April – Bathroom Deep Clean

  • Ensure drains flow freely — use hot water flushes to prevent clogs.

May – Outdoor Awareness

  • Keep porches, balconies, and walkways clear of clutter.
  • Notify management if you see cracked pavement or loose railings.
  • If allowed, gently rinse exterior windows.
  • Look for any pest activity and contact pest control

June – Cooling System Prep

  • Remove dust from vents and fans.
  • Replace/clean AC filters monthly during summer use.
  • Make sure nothing blocks airflow from vents.
  • Check for condensation or leaks near AC units.

July – Fire Safety Month

  • Test smoke and CO detectors again.
  • Ensure fire extinguishers are accessible.
  • Avoid overloading power strips.
  • Keep BBQ grills, if allowed at least 10 feet from buildings.

August – Water Awareness

  • Check under sinks, behind toilets, and near appliances for leaks.
  • Report dripping faucets promptly.
  • Keep bathroom exhaust fan running during showers to reduce moisture damage.
  • Don’t use flushable wipes — they cause plumbing issues.

September – Storm Prep

  • Know where your emergency shut-offs are for water, gas, and electricity.
  • Secure outdoor furniture if storms are forecasted.
  • Clear balcony drains or small outdoor gutters (if accessible).
  • Keep a small emergency kit handy.

October – Heating System Prep

  • Replace/clean furnace filters.
  • Clear space around vents.
  • Test heating before cold weather hits.
  • Report unusual noises or smells immediately.

November – Safety & Security

  • Check that all locks and latches work.
  • Inspect weatherstripping on doors and windows.
  • Unplug unused electronics to save energy.
  • Ensure stairways are well-lit.

December – Holiday Safety

  • Water live Christmas trees daily to prevent fire hazards.
  • Don’t overload outlets with decorations.
  • Keep decorations away from heaters.
